Week 15 NFL Picks: 4 Upsets to Chase
Johnny Football takes center stage in week 15, as the Browns are just one of the teams to watch with playoff implications on the line. While everyone will be keeping an eye on that game to see if Johnny Manziel has the goods to play at the highest level, NFL bettors will also be eyeing some killer upsets they can win big on. There are at least four once again this week that anyone should consider chasing.
We’re not flat out picking these games, but the odds are decent for the underdog to either cover the spread or win straight up. Let’s check them out:
Texans over Colts (-7)
You have to like J.J. Watt and the Colts this week, as they take on a Colts team that has an inconsistent defense and a lethargic rushing attack. Houston only lost by five to the Colts in meeting number one, and they’ll be fired up for this huge divisional clash. There’s a ton riding on this one for both teams, so expect the Texans to keep it close until the end. Betting on this one being decided by less than a touchdown may be a fantastic idea this week.
Dolphins over Patriots (-8)
Miami is a pretty nice upset pick this week for two solid reasons. For one, they actually beat the Pats in week one, so we know they can win this matchup. Second, they also have their entire season riding on this game. If Miami wins here and wins out, they could still have an outside shot at the AFC East, while they badly need to win this week just to ensure a playoff spot, in general. New England probably doesn’t lose this one at home, but the Fins can still cover the spread it what should be a fairly competitive game.
49ers over Seahawks (-9.5)
Seattle dominated the Niners in San Francisco just two weeks ago, but we may not be able to count on a decisive 19-3 win this time around. These two teams usually fight close, low-scoring defensive battles, so the odds play into that happening again in week 15. Both teams have a ton on the line in this one, while the 49ers can probably say goodbye to the playoffs if they lose this one. Seattle probably wins at home here, but the Niners can absolutely cover this gracious spread.
Raiders over Chiefs (-10.5)
Oakland’s first win of the year came against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football just three weeks ago, and they’re now 2-1 over the last three games. Latavius Murray ripped KC for over 100 yards and two scores the last time, and he’ll be back and ready to rock in this one, as well. The Chiefs are the better team and they have a lot to play for, but Oakland is playing much better these days. KC also struggles mightily against the run, so if Murray gets going, the Raiders will have a great chance at covering the spread.
