More NFL Week 2 Picks: Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins
Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins Sun. Sept. 18, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
Last week the Houston Texans might have experienced a passing of the torch of sorts as they absolutely dominated the Indianapolis Colts in the season opener, 34-7. With superstar quarterback Peyton Manning most likely missing the entire season due to a slow recovery from neck surgery, the Texans have a perfect opportunity to take control of the AFC South division and delivered the first blow in Week 1 with a win over their division rivals.
Ironically enough, the Houston Texans were able to beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 without one of their best players in Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster (hamstring). Without Foster the consensus was that the Texans offense would be much less effective, but that wasn’t the case as they were firing on all cylinders.
In Week 2, the Houston Texans will have a healthy Arian Foster back in the lineup and will head to South Beach to take on a Miami Dolphins squad that is much better than anticipated. With the Dolphins taking the division rival New England Patriots the distance in Week 1, the Miami franchise might be able to make a run at the playoffs this season, but they will have to get past a very good Texans team in Week 2 in order to get a W in the win column.
As of right now, the Houston Texans are favored to come out on top in this matchup with a -3 point spread. This is a steal in my opinion as I don’t think the Dolphins will be able to keep up with the Texans.
